Deutschland-Ticket: plan a trip and avoid an extra month
Check whether your journey uses local transport before buying this monthly subscription. Know what it covers, when to cancel, and what needs a separate ticket.

Check the journey before buying
The Deutschland-Ticket costs €63 per calendar month on Deutsche Bahn’s October 2026 page. It covers participating local and regional public transport. It generally excludes ICE, IC, EC and other long-distance services; specific exceptions appear in journey information. Check the current price and coverage on DB’s page before purchase.
Remember that it is a subscription
The subscription renews automatically. DB allows cancellation by the 10th of a month for the end of that month. If you buy through another provider, read that provider’s cancellation instructions. Save the cancellation confirmation rather than assuming deleting the ticket cancels the subscription.
Plan the whole trip
Look up both your outward and return journey. Compare the subscription with available tickets for the trips you actually expect to take. Check separate rules for companions, bicycles, pets and cross-border travel; do not assume they are included.
