What's in the 2.0 entry
Boris™ now keeps up when your orders change. One guide for the whole move.
Official guidance links to its source wherever possible. Practical tips are clearly labeled.
Your checklist and progress carry over when you update.

Upcoming Boris 2.0: a clearer next step
Today helps you see what needs attention and what is coming next. Open your full PCS checklist when you need the wider plan, explore local help in Discover, and update your choices in You.
New orders? Your current base stays open while your next one appears beside it, until you confirm you've arrived.
Once you confirm you have finished arriving, Settled takes over from the arrival checklist: local guides, places and events for your community, plus Upkeep for the recurring things worth revisiting.
Emergency Contacts are one tap away on every main screen: tap the red SOS button in the bottom bar.
Your checklist and your ticks carry over. Updating to 2.0 does not reset your progress. If you use Team Up, update both phones so pairing keeps working.

Team Up: two phones, one checklist
Pair your phone with your partner's. One phone shows a code, the other scans it, and from then on both show the same checklist. When one of you checks something off, it shows up on the other phone.
Some tasks now say who does them, with a small Sponsor or Each of you label.
The in-processing tasks were rebuilt from a real KMC packet. They now show housing briefing days and name tasks the way your unit does. The LQA deadline counts from the day you move into quarters.
Everything travels between your two phones in a sealed envelope and is deleted the moment it arrives. Still no account. Still no personal tracking.

Checklist corrections
Boris went back through the checklist and fixed what was wrong.
The app had some overseas allowances down as taxable when they are not. Passport wait times, where to get your ID card, and whether EFMP screening holds up your orders were all corrected.
Offices no longer show up for the wrong service branch, and map pins open again.
-
One listing per business
A business with more than one address used to appear as separate entries. Now it is one listing, with every location on the map and its own hours and phone number.
Boris also fixed a wrong answer about JAG legal assistance. GS civilians are not automatically shut out, so it is worth asking.
-
Boris on Android
Boris arrived on Google Play in August 2026. It has everything the iPhone version has, widget included.
On iPhone, the Local tab was redesigned.
-
Sponsor or spouse
Setup asks whether you are answering as the sponsor or the spouse.
-
Meal and receipt log
Temporary quarters mean weeks of meals to track for TQSA or TLA. A lost receipt is money you don't get back. Log each meal in a few taps and snap the receipt. When it is time to file, export it all for Finance.
It all stays on your phone.
-
Home Screen widget
Your countdown, your next tasks and your critical progress, without opening the app. You can check a task off from the widget itself.
Before a German holiday closes the stores, Boris gives you a heads-up. Once you are settled in, the widget shows your day count, the next holiday and the euro to dollar rate.
-
Budget and key dates
A PCS budget for out-of-pocket costs like temporary lodging, deposits and shipping. It keeps a running total you can export.
Countdowns to your real deadlines, and one tap to add them to your calendar. Office contacts now match your branch. Air Force and Army families only see their own offices.
A follow-up release fixed the Suggest a correction button. It also fixed a day counter that could be off by one around daylight saving time.
-
Settled mode
Once you are settled in, Boris shows the entitlements for your status and branch. Tasks that come back every year get their own section.
Tap any German phrase to hear it spoken. There is also a playbook for Deutsche Bahn and the Deutschland-Ticket.
More English-friendly businesses, day trips and community events, and the directory got its own tab.

First release
Boris went live on the App Store on 29 April 2026. It launched with the PCS checklist, the KMC directory, and a mode for each stage: arriving, living here and leaving.
Updates in the first days let you skip a task with a clear warning, and undo it in one tap. Once you are settled, a "Got orders to leave Germany?" button waits on the home screen.
Small maintenance releases that change nothing you can see are not listed here. See KMC guides or sourced answers next.
